This basket has an unusual and interesting structure. The interior layer is patterned but the exterior layer covers the design. The exterior layer is composed of two elements, vertical flat fibre strips which rise up the sides of the basket and a horizontal layer that carries the design. The two layers are stitched together and attached to the core basket with cotton thread.
